Founding Pastor (建堂牧师)
Charlotte
(Hsiaoyu) Chen-Tsai
Pastor Charlotte came to this country as a graduate student
from Taiwan. She was the first female who received a doctoral degree from Chemical
Engineering Department in University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
She worked for a major US company for over fourteen years and became
their Technical Director in Asia. She accepted Jesus Christ as her
personal Savior and Lord during her first year in this country. In
1999 after finishing a twenty-month company assignment in China,
she left the company to answer God’s calling to be a full-time
minister. She served at Chinese Community Church of Indianapolis
as Family Ministry Director and later as Associate Pastor for Campus
and New Immigrant Ministries. In June 2003, she was sent by the
church to Fort Wayne as a missionary. A Chinese Bible study fellowship
started at her home and moved to the current location in April
2004 thanks to the generosity of First Assembly of God Christian
Center in the Lord. Besides her ministries of prayer and preaching God’s
words within and outside Fort Wayne, she also provides pastoral counseling to
individuals and families and serves as a Chinese translator in Fort Wayne courts
and hospitals for Chinese residents. She received a master degree for her
theological training from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School at Deerfield, Illinois.
She is blessed with a supportive husband, two daughters and an eighty-two year-old mother.
